Fettes College has installed a state of-the-art CCTV system for a new classroom block

A number of internal and external cameras were installed in the new William Building to help ensure pupil and staff safety and security. The system is linked to the Local Area Network (LAN) to allow the viewer to see live and recorded images on designated PCs. The installation also involved an upgrade of much of the existing system, enabling the sports centre, the main building and dormitory block all to be viewed remotely.

Phil Houghton of Fettes said: “This is a new and enhanced add-on to our existing CCTV systems in other parts of the school and we are very pleased with its operational capabilities.”

Brian Davidson of SCS Security Design said: “Fettes now has a much greater recording facility than before that enables a variety of different parts of the school to be viewed remotely using the very latest Navigator digital recording system.”

SCS Security Design has enjoyed a long relationship with Fettes as its main supplier of CCTV and security equipment.
