Boost for Central Scotland Police
Tuesday 15th June 2010
Scottish Communications has upgraded the video digital recording equipment at the Central Scotland Police custody suite in Falkirk and also installed two high definition SANYO cameras to cover the charge bar area.
The installations will ensure that Central Scotland Police has the most up-to-date and latest generation CCTV and digital recording systems in the custody suite, which is essential for the efficient control and management of the area. A spokesman for Central Scotland Police said: “We are very pleased with the equipment that has been installed. In particular the high definition cameras which we are using to cover the charge bar area will assist in any investigations where the cataloguing of property might be an issue.” The recording equipment comprises a pair of SANYO 16 channel MPEG-4 Hybrid Digital Video Recorders, which is an incredibly versatile system that allows the user to save and manage vast amounts of data by simply clicking on a button from a live screen. This versatile system also has a full network capability system that features live picture monitoring and simultaneous recording and playback. Another notable feature is the image compression format that enables high-quality data transmission over a network and special fast forward and reverse playback. The hybrid DVR can record high quality ‘real time’ images from up to 16 cameras, four of which can be IP cameras. The SANYO VDC-HD3100p is a full HD vandal resistant colour dome camera. It has the capability to capture full high definition sharp and crystal clear colour images at 25 frames per second per camera and is equipped with a dual-streaming function to enable simultaneous transmission of two video streams with the option of one low resolution stream being used for real time surveillance and another set for recording at HD for post incident investigation.
