Two of Scotland�s top farm shops install CCTV from Scottish Communications

Two of Scotland’s top farm shops have installed CCTV systems from SCS Security Design. Loch Leven’s Larder near Kinross and the Gloagburn Farm Shop at Tibbermore near Perth both say their new systems provide ‘peace of mind’ and act as an extremely useful deterrent against potential shoplifters.

Robin Niven of Loch Leven’s Larder says: “Our system is working well and it gives us peace of mind to concentrate on the running of the business without having to worry about unwelcome distractions.”

Ian Niven (no relation) of GloagburnFarm Shop agrees. He says: “Our system provides both internal and external coverage and we believe that it is already proving its worth as a deterrent against shop-lifting. “Thankfully such incidences are relatively rare, but it is the peace of mind we like. Our customers don’t notice the CCTV - it is only the people with ulterior motives that do, which makes it an unobtrusive but effective deterrent.” Both systems link back to a digital recording system in their back office, which enables round-the-clock monitoring if required. Loch Leven’s Larder also had a public address and intruder alarm system installed by SCS Security Design. Gloagburn Farm Shop and Loch Leven’s Larder have enjoyed strong growth in recent years as consumers are becoming increasingly interested in the provenance of their food. Both shops boast some of the finest foods and local produce.
