One of the highlights of this year for a lot of us here at Scottish Communications Group (and there has been many!) has to have been the Grand National…mainly as we had a vested interest in the winner!

As you can see from our two posts back in April, we went from protecting a Grand National Contender to protecting a Grand National Winner!

It was a great project to be involved in, and a really pioneering effort by the team at Lucinda Russell Horse Trainer to bring CCTV into the yard to monitor the health and welfare of One for Arthur.

At the time, Oli Russell, Sales and Marketing Executive, described why they opted for CCTV with Scottish Communications Group:

’It’s a first for this yard and after the Grand National we’re going to use the CCTV for any horses that need 24 hour surveillance like sick horses. Then we know how it’s been doing through the night.’

The result was been very positive:

‘We’ve got complete reassurance that nothing has happened to the horse. Especially at night time, it’s a really clear image when it’s dark and he’s at his most vulnerable on his own. The horse owners are very impressed as are we.’

We relived the action this morning – it’s an exciting race to watch!
